I've been practicing control over the pencil - controlling darks and lights in a single line - so I can do it. But yeah, especially on the batch of simple Sarahs, below - definitely trying to get line economy in to pencil stuff.
But it wasn't possible until I did this lame-feeling set of pencil exercises. A few pages of - tone squares, tone squares done with one line, lines going from dark to light evenly, etc. etc.

More of your non-inkbrush drawings are exhibiting your inkbrush drawings' economy of stroke. Are you doing this on purpose?
